For over seven decades, Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital has been a lifeline for children across Kenya, growing from a small children’s ward into the largest not-for-profit children’s hospital in Sub-Saharan Africa by patient volume. In 2010, Gertrude’s Hospital Foundation was founded to mobilise the resources needed so that no child is ever turned away because of poverty.
Since then, we have worked together with Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital to carry that promise beyond our walls, delivering high-quality healthcare through the main hospital, outreach clinics and medical camps to vulnerable children who would otherwise have nowhere else to turn.
We fund treatment for childhood cancer, congenital heart disease and other conditions that claim the most young lives in Kenya, reaching further through telemedicine and mobile clinics.
Every donation is receipted within 60 seconds and traceable to the programme it funded. We publish quarterly impact reports drawn from hospital records and independently audited accounts.

Diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in April 2025, Taeghan reached Gertrude's after delays in accessing specialist care. Funds from the walk removed the financial barriers to her surgery and chemotherapy — she has since completed treatment and returned to normal childhood activities.
